We parked at the car park between the Lochan na Fola & Altnafeadh. The plan - to head up the Lairig Gartain  to the path onto Buachaille Etive Mor, next to Stob Coire Altruim. The objective - Stob na Broige, the back Munro of the mountain. The week before had seen high winds and torrential rain, much the same as the attempt last year to coincide with the annual dinner dance. Last year the wind was so bad by the time we reached the top of the Lairig (at 400 metres the gusts were in the range of 50 to 60 miles an hour) it was decided it was not worth the effort and we would try again this year.
