We had a good weekend in this warm and comfortable bunkhouse, a real train enthusiast’s paradise and a big hit with Andy. Twenty people attended this club meet including our new member Paul.
Despite the awful weather (rain turning to snow at 1,000ft ) everyone ventured out on the Saturday.
Willie led a large group up the north face of Stob a’ Choire Mheadhoin with a few folk abandoning this direct route due to lack of crampons and the lure of the rugby match showing in the pub.
Donald ticked off Meall Laidh Mor in his attempt to complete the Marilyns.
Allasdair and Jim interrupted their ‘gourmet eating weekend’ to climb Craig Pitridh but only made it to the caves for a spot of lunch (smoked salmon, grapes, and dark chocolate with cranberries).
Chod and I abandoned our attempt on Stob Ban for a long wet walk up to Laraig Leacach bothy only.
With the drying room full of wet gear and everyone fed and watered we spent Saturday evening around the fire which Willie kept ticking over(!). Chod played guitar and we sang the whole of the song book!
Sunday saw a continuation of the poor weather so we all headed home. On the way down Steve took New Paul into the doss and showed him around.
