The (not so!) Magnificent Seven turned out for this day meet. There was a lot more snow still around than anyone had really expected and no-one had come with ice axe and crampons – well it is June after all. We decided on the Lost Valley to see if Bidean nam Bian was on, knowing Stob Coire nan Lochan was an alternative. As anticipated, the slopes up to Bidean looked a bit too serious without winter gear and we were “repulsed” (a word I picked up from Geoff who apparently was “repulsed” on the Ben recently). Fortified by Alistair’s Mint Humbugs, we therefore did the round of Stob Coire nan Lochan and were lucky to get good weather and great views. We rounded off a very satisfying day with a cup of tea back at our great doss. Thanks to Charlie for organising these meets.
