Meets List
General information
Our meets year runs from September to June. From October to March we generally book hostels and huts, whilst the rest of the year we use campsites.
The club operates a WhatsApp group which is updated regularly with meets details and other club information. People wishing to go on meets add their names to a list which can be accessed from the club WhatsApp group. We don’t offer any group transport to any of the meets. Instead, everyone indicates on the meets list whether the can offer or need a lift. Then we use this list to coordinate lifts .
Occasionally, there may be more names on the list than accommodation availabilty, in which case we use a waiting list system on a first-come-first-served basis. In this case, if and when someone pulls out, the next person in line on the waiting list can take their place.

Dumfries & Galloway
Our first meet of the season will take us to Dumfries and Galloway, a brand-new destination for the Langie! Based at Solway View Campsite, we’ll be exploring an area that’s not Munro land but offers plenty of solid options: coastal walks along the Solway Firth, short sharp hills inland, good cragging around Dalbeattie and the Galloway coast and even some excellent cycling routes. It’s a change of pace from the Highlands and a great spot for varied outings.

Glen Feshie
In October we will be heading to Mill Cottage in Glen Feshie, a familiar favourite for the Langie. We’ll be aiming to catch the autumn colours as we head up towards the Feshie hills or onto the Cairngorm plateau, with good climbing options nearby for those keen to get on rock. It’s a perfect base for varied days out at a quieter time of year.

Glen Clova
November will find us in Glen Clova, a great area for a transition‑month weekend, at Braedownie Hut. With shorter days and cooler conditions, we’ll be aiming for straightforward hill days on the Clova tops, with good climbing options nearby for anyone keen to get on rock if the weather allows. It’s a good spot for steady autumn outings before winter fully arrives.

Annual Dinner Dance, Glasgow
November also brings our Annual Dinner Dance in Glasgow, held at the Queen’s Park Bowling & Tennis Club. It’s not exactly a hill day, but the ceilidh usually burns a similar number of calories, especially with ceilidh band extraordinaire Rerr Terr leading the charge. Friends and family are not just welcome but actively encouraged to join in…a good banter is guaranteed.

Laggan
Our December meet will take us to Raeburn Cottage in Laggan for a pre‑Christmas weekend. With winter settling in, we’ll be hoping for some early snow on the nearby hills and on the Cairngorm side just a short drive away. If conditions allow, there’s scope for some early winter routes and local cragging and we might even justify a few mince pies back at the hut afterwards. It’s a great end‑of‑year meet in a reliable area for early‑season winter days.

Invergarry (Burns Meet)
January will see the club heading to Invergarry, staying at the Saddle Mountain Hostel for a year-start weekend meet. With access to the great hills of Lochaber, there’s plenty to go at if winter conditions behave. After a day out in the hills, we’ll gather for our annual Burns Supper. This is usually a lively mix of questionable poetry reading, the customary haggis, neaps & tatties sprinkled with Carl’s special whisky sauce and the kind of banter and glow that only appears once everyone has thawed out.

Ballater
February will take us to Ballater in the heart of Deeside, staying at the Ballater Hostel. From here we will have straightforward access to the Southern Cairngorms and Lochnagar, giving plenty of options for winter days out. And for anyone who fancies stretching the evening a bit further (battered legs allowing), Ballater’s pubs and restaurants are very handy to make an evening out feel very achievable.

Linn of Dee
March will bring us back east to the Linn of Dee, staying at Muir Cottage, a Langie favourite at any time of the year. As we head into spring, this meet gives us another chance to revisit the Southern Cairngorms or the nearby Lochnagar side if February didn’t deliver. The tracks around the Linn of Dee make bicycles genuinely handy for longer approaches, opening up plenty of options for big hill days.

Kintail
In April we are heading west to Kintail, staying at the NTS Kintail Outdoor Centre. With Glen Shiel right outside the door, we’re surrounded by some of the best ridges and summits in the Highlands: the Brothers, the Sisters, the Cluanie ridges and all the steep, dramatic ground that makes Kintail such a favourite. It’s the kind of area where you don’t need to oversell anything; the hills do the talking!
